More Pool House News
On Tuesday, April 10th, Sarah Rohrs and Robin Wentworth met with the City of Gloversville's building inspector, Rob Robbins, who was gracious enough to give us the green light on our pool house project. He gave us some wonderful advice regarding the pool house as to what we should do with the floors and the walls, but said "This building will outlast all of you!" This is just one more great step towards the public assurance that this project is extremely feasible!
Very Exciting Pool News!!!
On the week of April 1st, the Recreation Commission received some excellent news that was no April Fool's joke! We received word that we would be the recipient two substantial grants from two prominent organizations: The Lucius N. Littauer Foundation and the New York State Senator, Mr. Hugh Farley. Both funds would go directly to the rebuilding of the Littauer Pool and Pool House.
The Littauer Foundation was gracious enough to donate $25,000 towards our project. We received this information two weeks ago, and obtained the check on April 5th.
Hugh Farley made the announcement on April 2nd that he would be giving the commission $10,000 (unless vetoed by the Governor) to go towards the rebuilding of the pool house and pool.
That's $35,000 that we gathered in less than two weeks. Simply put, we are absolutely stunned and forever grateful.
Please check out the Pool site to see where the money will be going to!
