Recreation Commission Members

Sarah Rohrs- Co-Chairwoman

Sarah is currently a secondary science teacher at Northville Central School. Aside from her duties on the commission, she is also a volunteer goalkeeping coach for the Gloversville field hockey team. As if all of this isn’t enough to keep her busy, she is also working on her PhD in Education through Capella University. She recently became engaged and will be marrying in August of 2007. Until that time when she begins married life, she is residing with her parents in Gloversville along with her Jack Russell terrier, Ginger. Sarah's many reasons for being on the commission is in part due to her gratitude to the city of Gloversville for providing a nurturing place to grow.

Charles Truby- Co-Chairman

Charlie currently teaches Social Studies at Abaetern Academy, which is an online high school based in Montana. He also finds time to work for Catholic Charities. Charlie is the president of the Gloversville Little League and the Director of High School development for the Northeast Team Handball Conference (NETHC).  He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, and grew up in Illinois. He considers Gloversville his hometown because of the warm hearts and welcoming spirit of the people in Gloversville. This reason is why he would like to build the recreation commission in Gloversville.

Sean Gittens- Treasurer

Sean is a State Corrections Officer, who served eight years in the U. S. Navy as a Disbursing (Payroll) Clerk.  While in the Navy, Sean served on the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Committee, which has been of a great use on the recreation commission. Not only does he acts as the treasurer on the commission, but he is the backbone for the commission's Littauer Pool projects as well. As stated by Sean: "The military is a tight-nit community...one big family. That's what I want to bring to the city of Gloversville."

Robin Wentworth- Secretary

Robin was born and raised in Gloversville where she continues to reside along with her husband John. Robin is employed as a Family Specialist in the Turning Point Family Based Treatment Program at The Family Counseling Center in Gloversville where she works with children and their families. She also serves as a board member on the Fulton County Youth Bureau Advisory Board. Robin enjoys being involved in community projects that may help to build a sense of community and strong family values for all children and their families in Gloversville.

Catherine is one of the newest members on the commission. Catherine is currently the Executive Director at the Senior Citizens Center in Gloversville
